Raju (aged 53), hailing from Pullamadai Keezhakoottai, R.S. Mangalam in Ramanathapuram district, was currently residing at Aadi Street, Sivaram Nagar, Saravanampatti. He owned and operated a mini lorry for his livelihood. He was reportedly known to have habits of consuming alcohol and smoking.
Last Thursday, Raju left for work as usual but did not return home even after considerable time had passed. On Friday morning around 9 AM, passersby noticed his mini lorry parked unattended for an extended period near Elango School, Vinayagapuram, Saravanampatti, and informed his son Anbarasan (23) via mobile phone.
Upon receiving the information, Anbarasan rushed to the spot and discovered his father Raju lying motionless in the driver's seat of the lorry. He immediately called for an ambulance. The medical team that arrived and examined Raju confirmed that he had already passed away.
Saravanampatti police, who rushed to the scene upon receiving information, retrieved Raju's body and sent it for post-mortem examination. They have registered a case and are conducting intensive investigations into the incident.
