5-year-old girl dies after falling into bucket of hot water at home near Negamam

The Negamam police have registered a case and are investigating the incident


Coimbatore: A 5-year-old girl died tragically after falling into a bucket of hot water near Negamam.

Prabhakaran (29), a resident of Lalgudi Annanagar, Trichy district lives with his wife Banupriya (26), a son and a 5-year-old daughter Janani. Prabhakaran works as an agricultural labourer and stays with his family on a private plantation at Alampalayam near Negamam, in Coimbatore district.

On the day of the incident, Banupriya reportedly heated bath water with a water heater in the bucket and left the hot water bucket at the back of the house and resumed her work. The little girl who was playing around the house suddenly jumped into the bucket of hot water, thinking it was normal cold water. On hearing her scream, the parents rescued her and rushed her to the Coimbatore Government Hospital for treatment. The girl who was in intensive care tragically died without responding to treatment.

The Negamam police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.
