Coimbatore Corporation Clears Overgrown Shrubs Along Pollachi Main Road in South Zone

Coimbatore Corporation's South Zone Ward 98 witnessed a major cleanliness drive along Pollachi Main Road near LIC Colony. Sanitation workers removed overgrown plants and shrubs from roadsides, collecting approximately 2.5 tons of waste, making the area cleaner and safer for public movement.

Coimbatore: The Coimbatore Corporation sanitation workers undertook a massive cleanliness drive to remove overgrown plants and shrubs along Pollachi Main Road in the LIC Colony area of South Zone Ward No. 98.

The Coimbatore Corporation has been consistently implementing cleanliness drives, dengue mosquito prevention measures, and development projects across all 100 ward areas under its five zones.

In this context, a special drive was conducted along Pollachi Main Road covering LIC Colony areas from No. 1 to 3 and Sivasakthi Nagar under South Zone Ward No. 98. Sanitation workers cleared densely grown plants and shrubs on both sides of the road.

During this extensive cleaning operation carried out by Corporation sanitation workers, approximately 2.5 tons of waste was collected and removed, transforming the roadside areas into clean and accessible spaces for public use.

Overgrown plants and shrubs along roadsides not only obstruct public movement but also create breeding grounds for disease-carrying mosquitoes like dengue. Considering this health hazard, the Corporation administration has been consistently undertaking such cleanliness drives across the city.

The cleaning work focused on removing vegetation that had grown densely on both sides of the road, particularly in areas where public movement is high. This initiative is part of the Corporation's ongoing efforts to maintain hygiene standards and prevent mosquito-borne diseases.

Corporation Commissioner M Sivaguru Prabhakaran has been emphasizing regular cleanliness drives in all zones to ensure a healthy living environment for residents. The South Zone has been particularly proactive in identifying and clearing such overgrown areas that pose health and safety risks.
