The emerging water crisis has already created havoc at many places in the city. People of this city are shell-shocked, supply once in 12 days well before the onset of the summer, seems very 'alarming'. However, the statement issued by city corporation announcing water disbursement once in 12 days was no shock to majority of the people, who claim the schedule has been very intermittent well ahead of this announcement.
'Due to the emerging water crisis in the city of Coimbatore, the people are hereby asked to spend water efficiently. Lavish spending of water will further worsen the situation during the upcoming summer' said CCMC, Commissioner Vijayakarthikeyan.
He further stated that, 'As scheduled, every ward in the city will be disbursed with water once in 12 days. While, in certain areas water will be disbursed through corporation lorries. The City Corporation is taking that is needed to ensure scheduled supply of water to all five zones in the city' he assured.
