Over 110 years after its founding as an Agricultural College in Coimbatore, the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU), is all set to leverage online technologies to expand its reach. As a part of it, the Directorate of Open and Distance Learning, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore signed a MoU with the Three sixty one (361) Degree Minds Consulting Pvt. Ltd., Chennai to launch a new online programme, today, 10th January, 2017.
The Registrar of the University, Dr. R. Anandha Kumar and Head of Enterprise Business of 361 Degree Minds, Sai Sumanth, signed the MOU in the presence of Dr. K. Ramasamy, Vice Chancellor, TNAU, and Dr. P. Santhi, Director, Directorate of Open and Distance Learning, Coimbatore to offer online MBA, PG diploma in Energy Management under formal programme and kitchen and roof gardening, medicinal plants and aromatic crops production and vermi-composting under certificate programmes.
Vice Chancellor, TNAU said “Urban dwellers are showing much interest in farming especially kitchen and roof gardening. Also the formal programme could be a value addition to the curriculum of young professionals. To satiate their needs, the TNAU is stepping into the new venture by signing this MoU. The TNAU will offer the curriculum and its online partner 361 Degree Minds will help in digitalization of the courseware and technical support services. The learners can make use of this opportunity which is to be materialised soon.”
