Latha was an assistant professor from Irugur in Coimbatore. She was found dead with her throat slit and her body was burnt. Singanallur police have registered a case in this regard and are investigating the case.
It has been reported that Latha was working as assistant professor in Governments Arts and Science College, Tirupur. Separated from her husband with whom she had some differences with, she was living in IOIB colony in Irurgur, Coimbatore. This morning, Rani one of her (Latha’s) neighbours found her dead with her body being burnt and her throat slit. The incident was reported to the Singanallur police. Police who reached Latha’s home sent her body for post-mortem.
At the crime scene police noticed Sambar powder spread across the place and Latha was found without clothes on her body. Police suspect that she might have been raped before being murdered and her body might have been set on fire.
Singanallur police are investigating whether any valuables from the home have been stolen and also the police are also investigating about who visited her home.
