Coimbatore corporation commissioner Dr. K. Vijayakarthikeyan conducted an inspection to check the sanitation standards at areas under the north zone.
During the inspection, he scrutinized the waste segregation carried out by the sanitary workers and instructed the garbage collection staff to follow the protocol as instructed.
As a part of the inspection, he also visited the reserve site at Karthick Nagar, Saravanampatti which was encroached and retrieved by the Corporation recently. He discussed with the officials to devise measures to avoid further encroachments in the future.
The 'Namma toilet' that was constructed at 31st Ward in Kumaran Nagar was also inspected by him. He insisted the sanitary workers to carry out routine cleaning procedures and ensure cleanliness in their respective wards.
