Coimbatore corporation commissioner K. Vijayakarthikeyan and presiding officer today inspected the door to door collection of biodegradable and non biodegradable waste at ward 80 and 83. He confiscated the polythene bags that are less than 50 microns in thickness from commercial establishments in this locality. He also educated residents in this area about the impact of plastic on the environment and advised to them to switch to environment friendly bags.

During this inspection, he also supervised the manure manufacturing facility at the ward numbers 80 and 83 and the T.K. Market. He also inspected the waste segregation that is done at the 30 houses situated in Telugu street.

Assistant corporation commissioner (incharge) of central zone Mohansundari, Assistant town planning officer Heamalatha, Zonal Health officer Gunasekaran among other corporation officials were present during the inspection.
