Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College bags first prize at the India International science festival


The Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Earth Sciences in association with VijnanaBharati (VIBHA) organized the second India International Science festival, at CSIR- NPL, New Delhi. It is the biggest showcase of Indian Sciences connecting students, young researchers and research establishments for socially relevant projects. For this year’s science festival the theme was “Science for the Masses”.

Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College, Coimbatore has bagged the first prize in two categories – Swastha Bharat and Strategic Application. These presentations were a team work by the students R.Nishitha, R.P. Srinath, GokulShanmugam, N.Ramvignesh, E.Vignesh, and A. Manikandan from the departments EIE, ECE, EEE, CSE and Mechanical Engineering departments.

The projects were guided by Dr. K. Srinivasan and Dr. B. Sharmila, the department of Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering. The prize was distributed by Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Minister Department of Science and Technology (India) and Ministry of Earth Sciences during the valedictory ceremony at the India International Science Festival.

This festival witnessed participation of 3000 young scientists, 200 industry participants and more than 300 academic participants. In the young scientist conclave, presentations were made under various themes like –Swastha Bharat, Green Energy, Digital India, Strategic Application, Make in India, and Smart City among others. Thousand three hundred projects were presented by various members from academic and other organizations.
