The ministry of new and renewable energy of government of India has launched an online training programme for solar photovoltaic design and installation as part of central government’s programme to install 100 GW of solar power under National Solar Mission by 2022. But due to shortage of skilled and unskilled personnel for handling installation of the solar power the sector has not grown as planned.
Skill development for green jobs a government of India enterprise is involved in development of training programmes for development of skilled manpower for the booming of solar industry under the Suryamitra programme of the central government. Solar Radiation Resource Assessment, National Institute of Wind Energy under Ministry of New and Renewable Energy in association with Lacharya Silicon Limited (ISL) in Chennai has developed an online programme in Hindi and English under Public - Private partnership model.
The two week online course will be provided on Photovoltaic feasibility studies, basics of design, installation, operation and maintenance of solar power plants. The fee for the programme is Rs.599.
