A seminar on ‘Disaster management training’ was hosted at Sri Ramakrishna College of Arts and Science for Women. Dr. E.S. Manikandan educated the students on disaster management and also provided training to the students on how to handle the situation during a disaster.
A student of Sri Ramakrishna College of Arts and Science for Women delivered the welcome address. Dr. K. Chitra delivered the presidential address. Following which Dr. E.S. Manikandan YRC coordinator of Coimbatore Medical College delivered his address. In his speech, he detailed about the measures that need to be followed during the time of disaster.

He explained the functioning of EMRI 108 ambulance service. He said, “If we contact the EMRI emergency service, the call will be received at three places including three EMRI call center. He said that, “EMRI services will function only when there is connectivity. So in case of emergency, we should be ready to handle the situation, if we are unable to contact the emergency services due to connectivity problems”.

He also explained the procedures that need to be followed during such situation. He further said that “During the time of disasters it is important to assess the situation, When handling an emergency situation, it is important to ensure the safety of your crew first followed by the patient safety and the bystander safety” he said.
