Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner and Special Officer, Dr. K. Vijayakarthikeyan today conducted an inspection at Kalveerampalayam which comes under the 17th ward of Coimbatore corporation. He inspected the door to door collection and segregations of waste by the sanitary workers.
He also inspected the application of Abate mosquito killer in the water tanks and removal of unwanted objects at the residence in the ward.
Upon visiting a commercial establishment in the ward , Special Officer, CCMC confiscated plastic bags which were less than 50 microns in thickness and educated the shop keepers to abstain from using plastic bags due to their hazardous nature.
As a part of his inspection, he also supervised the works on construction of storm water drains in Murugan Nagar near Marudhamalai and the corporation land at Annai Indra Nagar. P. Gandhimathi, Deputy Corporation Commissioner and other corporation officials were present during the inspection.
