Complaints have been received against the Bharathiar University seeking action is against the irregularities that take place in appointment of teaching staff of the various departments of this university. The former PG and research department students of the Bharathiar University have petitioned the Coimbatore collector in this regard.
There have been many irregularities in appointment of 76 professors to the Bharathiar University, reservation has not been followed properly while making the appointments they have said in the petition. Also they have said that corruption to the tune of crores of rupees have taken place in the appointments.
Appointment orders have been issued to the persons who are not qualified for the respective post. The petitioners stated that people who complaint against the irregularities that are followed are threatened. They (the petitioners) also said that they will surrender the degrees they have received if action is not taken in this matter.
