Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) hosted a meeting in Podanur today. Thekalan Bakavi presided over the meeting and state secretary Abdul Sathar welcomed the gathering. SDPIs state deputy leaders Rafeek Ahamad, Ajmath Basha, genera secretaries Nijam Muhaideen, Abdul Hamid, secretaries Ameer Hamsa, Rathinam, sate resident of S.T.T.U Muhammad Farook, state president of VIM Najima participated in the meeting.
During this meeting SDPI conveys its condolences to the members of the AIADMK party and the people of Tamil Nadu, following the death of former Chief Minister J. Jayalalitha. During the same meeting, it was made official that this party has planned a state wide protest against the demonetisation process initiated by the central government. This SDIP claims that process of demonetisation is against the interest of a majority of people.
One of the representatives of the SDPI shared “Religious politics should not be given a place in Tamil Nadu. We have planned to collect money for the growth of SDPI. Our party welcomes the steps taken by the Tamil Nadu government in view of the cyclone Vardha.” he said.
