The water level at the Mettur dam is currently at 39.560 ft. Water flow into the dam is at 67 cusecs. It has been reported that about 750 cusecs water has been released from the dam for irrigation purposes. The water available at this dam is 11.865tmc.
Post the failure of North east monsoons, the present water level at the Mettur dam stays low at 39.560 ft, recording a water inflow at 67 cubic ft.
Last year, the resorvoir reached 91.40 feet against its Full Reservoir Level (FRL) of 120 feet. And, while in 2014, the resorvoir reached upto 115 ft.
Presently, close to 750 cuses of water has been released from the dam for irrigation purposes. The current availability is just 11.865 tmc. Scanty rainfall around the catchment areas has resulted in a low inflow of water to the reservoir.
