Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner Dr. K. VijayaKarthikeyan today inspected the Sunnampu Kalvai region at the 87th ward of the Coimbatore Corporation. During this inspection he made a pit stop at a vegetable vendor who was selling vegetables in a pushcart and educated her on the ill effects of using plastic bags that are below the permissible level. He also confiscated her stock of (banned) plastic bags.
As a part of this inspection, he supervised the works that are carried out by the corporation sanitary workers in the ward. He also inspected the construction of the additional classrooms at the Coimbatore Corporation Middle School in Anna Nagar.
The Corporation Commissioner also inspected the door to door application of ‘Abate’ medicine to control breeding of mosquitoes and removal of unwanted objects. Assistant Corporation Commissioner Gandhimathi, Town Welfare Officer Dr. K. Santhoshkumar, Assistant Town Welfare Officer Dr. M. Santhoskumar, Executive Engineer Sundararajan among other corporation officials accompanied the Corporation Commissioner.
