CCMC extends deadline to pay taxes using de-monetised notes.

The Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation (CCMC) has extended the deadline of paying taxes through de-monetised 500's and 1000's till 15th December. It was earlier announced by CCMC that the deadline will expire by midnight of 24th November. However, the positive response received from the public towards clearing their pending and current corporation taxes has been taken into account while extending the dates.

CCMC Commissioner Vijayakarthikeyan has reported that 'A consolidated tax amount of Rs. 52.87 crores has been collected from 11th November to 24th November, 2016 at all five zones in the city. To enable the public to pay taxes using de-monetised notes, CCMC has opened special counters at all its zonal offices. Hence, people are advised to make use of the extension and clear their current and any pending dues on priority'
