Demanding cancellation of paid worship at temples, Hindu Unity Society observes a fast

A fast was observed by the members of Hindu Society Unity Society demanding the cancellation of collecting fee from devotees for darshans (worship) at Hindu temples. Participants allege that despite several representations being made in this regard in the past, this fee has not been waved off as yet. They also demanded an inquiry on the murders of leaders of various Hindu organisations.

More than 500 members from various Hindu organisations observed this fast that was led by Vanathi Srinivasan of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The participants said that leaders of various Hindu organisations are repeatedly being attacked. Condemning these attacks, participants also demanded that action is taken against those who are responsible for the attacks.

They also sought action against ‘Love Jihad’ which is aimed at cheating girls from Hindu religion.
