Underground sewage deposits can be paid using old currency notes says Coimbatore corporation Commissioner


Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner and presiding officer K. Vijaya Karthikeyan said “The works on underground drainage system has been completed in a few areas under the Coimbatore Corporation. The house owners from the respective areas can pay their deposits for connecting the drainage to the underground drainage system using the demonetised Rs.500 and Rs.1000 currency notes. Deposits can be made at the Chinthamani tax collection centre which is situated in the 12th ward of the Coimbatore Corporation. South Zone residents can pay their deposits at the Ponnaiya Rajapuram health inspector's office.”

The Corporation Commissioner added that residents from the old corporation zones can also pay their deposits using the old currency notes. The connections will be provided to these residents once the respective works are over. If there is any variation in the deposit amount the respective difference should be subsequently be paid. The deposits can also be paid at all zonal offices and special camps using the 500 and 1000 rupees currency notes.
