A case was registered by the Kerala police against Suriya Pillai wife of Shamsuddin from Thrissur. Suriya Pillai escaped to Sharjah on learning about the case. Kerala police got information that Suriya Pillai is coming to Kerala from Sharjah via Coimbatore. They alerted the immigration officials at the Coimbatore airport. Police today arrested Surya Pillai in Coimbatore and conducted an inquiry. Thrissur police came to Coimbatore and arrested Suriya Pillai and took her to Kerala.
