Swift action by City Police secures kidnapped baby in six hours time.


The new born baby that was reported missing at the Government hospital today morning has been traced and recovered by the city police. The swift action taken by the city police by securing the child within six hours from the time of kidnap has brought back smiles to the baby's parents and the doctors at CMCH. 



A woman named Jothi delivered a baby girl at the Government hospital on 8th November, 2016. Today morning, she left her 2-day old baby to an inmate named Archana, who has been impersonating as a newly delivered mother and that her baby was admitted in the ICU. When Jothi returned back after meeting the doctor, she was shell-shocked to see that Archana along with her baby had gone missing. Jothi immediately informed the issue to the medical staff and doctors present at the ward. The police were also alerted on the issue. The police scrutinised the CCTV footages and found that three woman and two men escaped through a van from CMCH with the missing baby.

The police alerted all the patrols and checkposts in the city and set a frantic search for the kidnappers. An hour ago, the police retrieved the baby safely at Vellakinar area and arrested the kidnappers. The baby has been taken to the government hospital and safely handed-over to it's mother.
