Female tusker found dead in Bhavani Forest Range, Sathyamangalam

A 20-year old female tusker reported to be found dead in the Bhavani Forest Range, Sathyamangalam. A team of forest officials and veterinary doctors are at the spot to conduct the post-mortem examination. 

On initial examination, the veterinarians have declared that the pachyderm could have possible died due to intestinal infection. Since the corpse was found to be in partially decayed stage its is suspected that it would have died a couple of days ago. The actual caused of the death of this elephant is yet to be ascertained. Nevertheless, death of this elephant has become a cause of concern for forest officials, veterinary doctors and environmental activists as incidents reporting death of elephants continue to pop-up every now and then.
