Two prostitution rackets busted in the city, brokers arrested.


Acting on a tip-off the Ukkadam police carried out a raid in a lodge located in Raja Street and busted a sex racket.  The police arrested Dilip (24), Venu (32) and Sathish (35) who worked as brokers in connection with this racket. Two women who were forced into flesh trade were rescued by the police and they are sent to a care home.

Also acting on a tip-off, the Saibaba Colony police busted another flesh trade racket that was operating in our city. The police received information that a duo in the name of running a massage centre, were involved in prostitution. The police raided the centre on Alagesan road and arrested Priya Joseph (42) and  Lipin George. One female staff was rescued from this centre and sent to a care home in the city.

In wake of bursting the two rackets, the police have stepped up vigil in many other areas across the city.
