Dengue drive organized by CCMC in ward #79


The rains no doubt bring in cheer and at the same time they pose a threat as during this time, chances of mosquito borne disease spreading are at an all time high. During this north-east monsoon season, the Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation (CCMC) is being extra cautious to ensure that our city is safe from such diseases. Special officer CCMC, Dr Vijay Karthikeyan today organized a drive inspecting residential and commercial establishments in ward #79.



As part of this drive, chlorine chemical was added to the water tanks in the homes of this ward. Additionally, the officers inspected the areas in and around the homes and they disposed the unused and unwanted stuff from there. The residents of this ward were briefed on a few dos and don’ts of the mosquito borne dengue disease.



Following this special officer and his team visited the day care centre that is located on Lawley Road. The sanitary workers of the Ponnaiah Raja Puram and A K S Nagar are involved in segregation of waste that is generated from this ward. Special officer visited this ward and inspected the waste segregation activity. The rain water harvesting system has been set up at Telugu Street. The functioning of this system was monitored. The rain water drainage system was also supervised by special officer.



Santhosh Kumar, City Health Officer, Coimbatore Corporation, Ravi, Assistant Commissioner in-charge South Zone and other corporation officers accompanied special officer on his visit.
