Amid growing tensions between India and Pakistan, a Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist was arrested from Sopore district in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday. As per reports by ANI, the terrorist named Omar Khaliq is a resident of Tujjer area. He was arrested after a joint operation launched by the police and 22nd regiment of Rajputhana Rifles. As per reports, four persons including two active members of Tehreek-i-Jehad-i-Islami (TJI) were arrested. TJI is a militant organisation based in Pakistan and was reported of receiving money from Pakistan for fueling and sustaining the present unrest in Sopore area.
As per reports by ANI, the Sopore Police arrested two persons, Gowhar Ahmed Bhat, the resident of Mir Sahib, Baramulla and Hilal Ahmed Gojri, a resident of Syed Karim, Baramulla who are active members of Tehreek-i-Jehad-i-Islami. Reports also stated that his came on the day that the Border Security Forces (BSF) apprehended a Pakistani national from Hiranagar sector of Kathua district in Jammu and Kashmir. The BSF foiled an infiltration bid of two terrorists who were trying to cross the International Border in Hiranagar on Thursday.
