Valparai India Post Office celebrates its centenary year

The India Post office that is located in Valparai is celebrating it's centenary year today. It may be recalled that this post office came into being in 1916 during the British rule. Back then people of this tiny hamlet visited this post office on horseback as no road was road was laid at that time. The postal service was extensively used in this hilly terrain due to the prevalence of tea estates. The postal service was considered a huge bliss for the people as it was the only means of communication for them.

Even today, in this contemporary era, people use this century old post office. Today, India Post office at Valparai is equipped with all latest infrastructural facilities that makes it on par with Post Offices in other regions. What has not changed in this post office is the cordial service rendered by the staff.
