City police arrests close to 800 rioters


In connection with the murder of Sasikumar, functionary of Hindu Munani and the violence staged thereafter. The City Police have beefed up security throughout the city, extending to the suburbs too.

 

In the last three days, more than 800 persons were arrested for indulging in violence, causing damage to public property and for distorting the peace in the city.

Among the arrested persons 145 are from the city and 652 persons from the suburban areas.

The police have set a frantic search for the remaining violators and investigation is on.
