Gunasekaran, a textile engineer hailing from Udumalpet has taken a new avatar as 'Yoga Instructor'. His passion for yoga sprouted up after his long-term ailments started healing through regular yoga practices. Since then, he has been practising and teaching yoga around the region. This June 21st is going to be a day of jubilation for Gunasekaran as he is all set for a Guinness record by performing a non-stop yoga session for 69 hours. The previous record is 47 hours.
On briefing the yoga marathon day he stated that he will be demonstrating close to 250 yoga positions and has decided to take a 5-minute break for every one hour. He has successfully made an attempt in May by continuously performing yoga for 4 days.
It all didn't just stop with practising yoga, Gunasekaran pursued his bachelor's in yoga and naturopathy from Dr.MGR Medical University and masters from Bharathiar University. The University of Milan has honoured him with the doctorate in yoga.
