Coimbatore District Police Launch Special Drive Against Rowdies.

Coimbatore District Police conducted a special drive on May 21-22, tracing and interrogating 51 rowdies across the district. Officials arrested 48 history-sheet offenders and 3 non-history-sheet offenders involved in criminal activities, issuing strict warnings against future crimes.


Coimbatore: The Coimbatore District Police have launched an intensified crackdown against rowdies and criminal elements operating across the district, resulting in the arrest of 51 offenders during a two-day special enforcement drive.

According to a press note issued by the Coimbatore District Police on May 22, special monitoring teams were constituted under the direct supervision of Sub-Division Deputy Superintendents of Police to track and verify 463 identified rowdies operating within the jurisdiction of all police stations across Coimbatore district.

The comprehensive operation, conducted on May 21 and 22, saw police teams successfully tracing, verifying, and interrogating approximately 51 rowdies. Following detailed inquiry, investigators found that 48 history-sheet offenders and 3 non-history-sheet offenders were actively engaged in various criminal activities within the district.

Police officials confirmed that all accused persons have been arrested and appropriate legal proceedings have been initiated against them under relevant sections of law. The arrests are part of an ongoing strategy to curb rowdyism and restore law and order in the region.

In a stern message to criminal elements, senior police officials issued strict warnings that severe legal action would be taken against anyone found engaging in unlawful activities in future. The department has made it clear that rowdy elements will be kept under constant surveillance and swift action will be taken at the first sign of criminal behaviour.

The Coimbatore District Police have also reached out to the public, encouraging citizens to come forward and share information related to crimes without fear or hesitation.
