Codissia Bags Best District-Level Industrial Association Award

Coimbatore district small scale industries association (Codissia) has been presented with 'Responsible Indian BMO (Business Membership Organisation also known as Industrial Association)' award for best district-level industrial association by foundation of MSME Clusters, New Delhi. Nearly 163 associations from across the country took part at the event.

E K Ponnusamy, president of Codissia received the award on January 22 in New Delhi.

The award is given to promote and identify responsible industrial associations.

Innovative initiatives, outreach programmes, nature of benefits, sustainability, their impact and replicability were some of the criteria for the award. The selection process was done be the federation of MSME cluster as per the guidelines given by the Ministry of corporate affairs (National voluntary guideline) after collecting data for the past three years.

Speaking about their programme, Ponnusamy said, "We conducted various awareness programmes and speeches every Friday on entrepreneurship development. Further, we helped aspiring entrepreneurs in market promotion and organised buyer-seller meets, industrial tours, foreign exhibitions, job fairs. Their hurdles and expectations were evaluated and submitted to the government."
