District Collector T.N.Hariharan flagged off the National Voter"s Day rally here today, in which hundreds of college students took part.
The significance of the day is to make more young voters take part in the democratic process. The day is meant to celebrate the right to vote and to create awareness on voting and to achieve vibrant democracy in India.
Later the collector took part in a function at the Government College of Technology and distributed voter ids to new voters and distributed prizes for the winners who won in various competitions organized for the occasion.
