Protests and statements issued by Hindu outfits urging Tamil Poet Vairamuthu to tender apology for his words on Andal, a Vaishnavite saint is brewing stronger every day.

In one such protest today, Hindu fringe outfits "Aanmega Adiyargal" and "Agila Bharath Hindu Thuraviyargal" held a protest in front of the South taluk office demanding Vairamuthu to tender apology for his tarnishing comments on Andal. The protestors also condemned DMK's MP Kanimozhi for hurting Hindu sentiments by passing controversial comments on Lord Perumal.
"The atheists are spreading venom in the minds of the people by abusing Hindu Gods. And, those involved in such acts should be taken to task", they insisted.
Vanathi Srinivasan, State Secretary of BJP, other district heads of BJP and cadres of small Hindu outfits took part in the protest.
