Two booked under Wildlife Protection Act for possessing deer meat

Forest personnel of Periyanaickenpalayam orest Range fined two men for taking the spotted deer meat that was left by a pack of wild dogs that hunted it today near Thadagam Reserve Forest here.

According to forest personnel, the accused C. Murugesan (35) from Tholampalayam and R. Radhakrishnan (32) from Velliankaadu were booked under the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972, for possessing deer meat.

On investigation it was revealed that the duo had retrieved the meat from a wild dog hunt inside the reserve. The dogs have left the meat after feeding.

The duo had in possession upto 5.5 kms of chopped meat.
