Congress cadres agitate against ending of subsidy for Haj Pilgrims

Condemning against the Centre’s move ending the subsidy extended to Haj Pilgrims, the Congress cadres staged an agitation in front of taluk office here.

Condemning against the Centre’s move ending the subsidy extended to Haj Pilgrims, the Congress cadres staged an agitation in front of taluk office here.



Led by Kumari Anandan, a Senior Congress leader the cadres raised slogans against the Modi- led government for the divisive move.

"The Rs.500 crore annual subsidy to Haj pilgrims was introduced during Congress tenure which presently is revoked by the ruling BJP government. This move points  the divisive agenda of the BJP government“, the Senior Congress leader alleged.

Executive committee members of the district Congress took part in the agitation.
