Coimbatore, January 16
The Central and Tamilnadu Governments should ban the release of "Padmaavat", which is due for release on January 25 said Anuj Singh, National President of Kshatriya Mahasabha Samoyojithan Samithi, a fringe Hindu outfit.
Briefing the media here, he said and attributed motives to Censor Board of India and its president Prajan Joshi for not effecting any cuts in the movie and releasing it in its original version.
“Only the name of the movie is changed to Padmaavat from the earlier Padmaavati, but the controversial scene is not censored” he alleged.
While Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, and Haryana have banned the movie, Tamilnadu should follow suit, he said. Anuj Singh has written letter to the same effect to TN Chief minister Edapadi Palanismay.
