A two day Pongal Celebrations on January 16 and 17 will be organized at the boathouse in the hill town of Ooty.
The festivities would include cultural programmes including folk dances, like Bharatanatyam, Karagam, Kavadi, Thappattam and other such traditions dances and events.
The Baduga tribes would present their tribal dances on the occasion. A large number of domestic and foreign tourists are expected to take part in the Pongal festivities organized by the tourism department.
