Eight of a gang of ATM burglars detained under Goondas Act

The city crime branch police have detained a gang of eight persons who have been involved in ATM burglary in the city for the past few months.

The city crime branch police have detained a gang of eight persons who have been involved in ATM burglary in the city for the past few months. 

The gang members broke into private bank’s ATM at Peelemedu in December and do away with Rs, 3 lakhs. The same gang also looted from other ATMs in the city to the tune of Rs.30 lakhs in the past months. 

As many as seven police teams were formed to nab the culprits, which led the arrest of the gang members following vital clues about them escaping to Bangalore after looting from ATMs here in the city. 

However the city police zeroed in on the gang members with the help of Bangalore police and arrested them.

 All the eight members of the gang have been sent to prison under the provisions of Goondas Act.The names of the ATM burglars are given as Zulfiquar, Mustaq, Amtih Kumar, Mubarkak, Mozam khan, Subair and Ameen.
