The employees of Coimbatore District AIDS Control Society and the staff of Coimbatore Government Medical College and Hospital celebrated “Samathuva Pongal” in the hospital premises.
B. Asokan, Dean of Coimbatore Medical College inaugurated the festival with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, following which Pongal pots were filled with rice and jaggery, cooked and sweet Pongal distributed to all.
Prizes were distributed to the winners of various sport and games competitions held on the occasion.
