Police arrested a trio, including a 21-year-old Mythili, who have duped a Germany- based techie, on promises of marrying him and cheated him out of his money to the tune of few lakhs before disappearing from the scene.

Police arrested a trio, including a 21-year-old Mythili, who have duped a Germany- based techie, on promises of marrying him and cheated him out of his money to the tune of few lakhs before disappearing from the scene.
According to Police Mythili had impersonated herself as Sruthi and had contacted 27-year-old Balamurugan of Chennai, working as software engineer in Germany through a matrimonial site, and developed a friendship with him by regularly speaking with him on the phone.
While Balamurugan visited India, the girl had accompanied him to various tourist places and cheated him out of his money. Mythili had also produced two other impersonators Chithra (48) and Prasanna Venkatesh (38) as her father and mother and lied about her circumstances.
But Mythili had allegedly severed her connections with Balamurugan, the techie after cheating him out of his money. However, Balamurugan had smelt a rat and preferred a police complaint with the city crime branch police.
Police arrested the three impersonators and produced them in court. It is said that Mythili had acted in a film in the past, which didn’t see the light of the day.
In a meanwhile, another techie Santhosh Kumar of Namakkal had complained to the police that a girl who got introduced her through a matrimonial site had extorted Rs.43 lakh from him before disappearing from the scene.
