Police found the body of a 75-year-old-woman Ramayi Ammal of Devendra Street, in Selvapuram who have been murdered for gain by unknown persons, who took away 17 sovereigns of gold ornaments from her house.

Police found the body of a 75-year-old-woman Ramayi Ammal of Devendra Street, in Selvapuram who have been murdered for gain by unknown persons, who took away 17 sovereigns of gold ornaments from her house.
According to police, the said woman was living alone, and the burglars sensing this have struck at wee hours. Ramayi Ammal was found in a pool of blood with her nose and ears also bleeding.
Neighbors alerted the police who arrived at the scene, and sniffer dogs have been pressed into service. Forensic experts have been lifting fingerprints from the crime spot.
While the victim’s husband is long dead, the two sons and five daughters of the murder victim are married and living in different places.
