Coimbatore, January 10

The death of three people of the same family has caused immense grief among the residents of Neelikonampalayam here on Tuesday.

It is reported that Mani (63) who owns a real estate business in Neelikonampalayam had been incurring loss in the recent days. Due to which he had bowwowed Rs. 4.5 lakhs from his sister Bhagyam (68) who stays along with him in the same house. As his business continued to incur loss, he was unable to pay back the money borrowed from his sister which resulted in a friction between the duo, sources say.

As the pressure to repay the money brewed, Mani decided to kill his sister and her daughter Shanthi by offering them a poisoned medicine claiming it to be good for health. As planned, both his sister and her daughter fell unconsicious after consuming the medicine. Soon after it, Mani himself consumed the Poison.

After a brief time, the neighbours were shell-shocked to see all three of the family lie in an unconsicious state. They immediately rushed them to Coimbatore Medical College Hospital (CMCH) for treatment.
