The abduction bid of a 12-year-old schoolboy Karikalan from near his house in Solipalayam and his dramatic escape from his abductors have created a flutter in Tiruppur.
Karikalan, son of Senthil and Anuradha and living in Srinivasanagar, Solipalayam near Velampalyam and a schoolboy studying sixth class in a local school was abducted by unknown persons on his way to private tuition in a two-wheeler yesterday evening.
The abductors had gagged him with a cloth and took him away on a motorcycle.
However, the boy managed to escape from his abductors after he had bit into the hands of one of the abductors following which Karikalan was abandoned by the road side by the abductors who fled the scene.
Karikalan has sought help and good Samaritans who in turn, contacted his mother Anuradha, who later arrived at the scene.
A police complaint was preferred by Anuradha in 15 Velanmpalayam police station, and the police are hoping to zero in on the culprits by using the CCTV camera recordings in a nearby building from where the boy was abducted.
