Even as deadlock continued over the ongoing TNSTC transport employees strike, which entered the sixth day, the striking employees staged an agitation in front of the TNSTC Divisional office in Mettupalayam road stressing for their charter of demands.
The striking busmen accompanied by their family members staged the agitation demanding pay parity on par with Government employees, settlement of pension dues and other such demands.
The agitation is part of the statewide protests being organized by striking employees all over Tamilnadu. Even though the court had directed them to return to duty, the employees have refused to do so.
Security was beefed up in the area following the busmen strike and agitation.
