Ofo, the app-based cycle sharing service was launched at Kumaraguru College of Technology.
Said to be the first of its kind in India in an educational campus, the world’s first and leading dock less bicycle-sharing platform operated via mobile app has entered Coimbatore with its pilot project at the reputed KCT.
Shankar Vanavarayar, Joint Correspondent, KCT and Dr. K Vijayakarthikeyan, CCMC Commissioner, flagged off the event.
Rajarshi Sahai, Director of Public policy and Communication of Ofo said”A hundred plus cycles would be used in the campus and it would be an eco-friendly and easy mode of transport for both students and teaching staff. The cycles could be used in cycle paths in the campus at no cost.
The initiative could give an option to the student community to reduce air pollution in the city. We have also planned to enlighten the students on the benefits of cycling, easy maintenance and eco-friendly quality of the riding bicycles within the sprawling campus.
