As part of "Kovai Vizha" being organized for the benefit of the people of Coimbatore, Shanti Ashram has been organizing a “Journey for unity” for school children in the city.
The unique programme will bring the students from 25 schools and institutions together and help them to get educated about the concept of “Unity in Diversity” and oneness of humanity.
About 120 children studying in the classes VIII and IX from different schools in the city have been selected and they will be taken to different places of worship and explained about the procedure adopted in these places. This will help in educating them about different faith traditions and method of worship adopted. The children will also come closer and cultivate a sense of camaraderie.
As a part of the programme the students have been taken to Masjodul Ihsaan Jamaat e Islam Hind, Salamat Nagar Karumbukkadai today to educate and enlighten them on Islam and its religious practices.
