Resolve Transport employees strike through dialogue Vaiko tells Government

Coimbatore, January 5

The government should resolve the outstanding issues of striking Transport employees through dialogue and not by any force said Vaiko MDMK General Secretary.

Briefing the media at the airport Vaiko said that the strike has affected the mobility of the common man and it should be handled with sensitivity.

While noting that the revised tax structure of the City Corporation has been a huge burden for the city denizens he said draconian measures like additional deposit for water connection and taxing garbage collection have affected the public and should be done away with.

Alleging that the closing down of the Government of India Press at Periyanaickenpalayam as a fascist move taken by the Centre, Vaiko said this would affect the livelihood of families who are employed in the press which started five decades back.
