Elephant attack victim dies at CMCH


Coimbatore, Dec 28

Tea estate worker Alagammal (57) who was grievously injured in an elephant attack at Valparai this morning died at the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital a few hours ago. 

Due to critical injuries, she was shifted to CMCH from Valparai government. Not responding to treatment, she succumbed to the injuries here.

Alagammal is an estate worker at the Sholayar tea eatate's first division. While she was on the way to work this morning, shockingly she encountered a wild tusker at close proximity. Despite attempting to escape from the tusker, she was thrown away by the tusker and sustained critical injuries. 

The death of Alagammal has caused immense grief and panic among the tea estate workers.
