Coimbatore, December 28
Over 500 residents of Murugan Nagar and Hudco colony near Peelamedu hoisted black flags atop their houses today protesting against the "undue delay" in the commencement of subway project, which was announced as a part of Railway over Bridge (ROB) project by the Southern Railway authorities.

The ROB project, implemented by Salem Railway Division, was thrown open to the public use on December 3. But there was no sign of commencing the pedestrian subway project, which too was announced by the Southern Railway authorities.
"The Southern Railway authorities do not commence the project immediately, we might be forced to organise agitations," the residents said.
