Condemning the ouster of the TTV Dinakaran supporters including himself from primary membership of AIADMK, Pugazhendi, an ardent loyalist of TTV Dinakaran and also former Karnataka chief of the party unit, said this move is aimed at dissuading the TTV Dinakaran loyalists who are still in the EPS camp from switching sides.
Pugazhendi, who briefed the media here today, claimed that jailed leader V.K. Sasikala Natarajan and her nephew Dinakaran are the most qualified to lead the AIADMK from the front.
While repudiating the observation of Deputy Chief Minister O.Panneerselvam that Dinakaran is a “Maaya Maan ( mirage) ” Pugazhendi exhorted the AIADMK cadres to rally behind Dinakaran to revive the party to its old glory.
“The AIADMK headquarters at Royapettah has lost all its charm since Sasikala was ousted from the party. I have never ever visited the party headquarters ever since Sasikala was shown the door ” Pugazhendi said.
While alleging that D. Jayakumar, Fisheries Minister, is the sole reason for the AIADMK candidate Madhusudhanan losing in the RK Nagar by-poll, he opined that DMK would have emerged the winner if Dinakaran had not secured the victory.
“I was appointed secretary of the AIADMK Karnataka wing by Jayalalithaa herself and none has the right to remove me from the party,” he said and added that “While Sasikala would be the happiest person because of the by-poll result, it would have been a shocker to Prime Minister Modi and BJP leaders” Pugazhendi added.
