Personnel of Coimbatore Forest Range fined two men for possessing deer meat near Kalayanur on the outskirts of the city.
According to forest personnel, based on a tip off, they had arrested Muruganandham, a TASMAC worker and Ramesh from Veerapandi for possessing deer meat. The duo was booked under Wildlife Protection Act and produced before District Forest Officer N. Satheesh, who imposed a fine of Rs.10,000 each.
